The Memphis Grizzlies agreed to come to Memphis largely because of a new arena. This op-ed piece is written by a long-time friend and the former project manager for the effort. It is well-written and, with a few name and location changes, could probably fit any city in America that has faced the issues associated with public funding of major sports venues.
