Rodent Regatta

Earlier this week I expressed my own dilemma about the open source software movement vs. the closed and proprietary (and costly) products available from major software companies. Within a matter of days, several things have helped crystallize for me where I think our clients should go with their I.T. planning. Here’s a list of the influencers:

• Dave’s entry today points to Microsoft embedding the brower in the operating system
• Brad Choate’s browser suggestion was much better, but sounds as if it was 180 degrees opposite of Microsoft’s thinking
• The folks at Six Apart mentioned Firebird
• terms of Microsoft’s settlement with AOL were astonishing
• A comment from Simon Phipps sealed my understanding
